Priority Area: Access to Care

The residents of Mendocino County reported that Access to Care was a top health concern. Survey results revealed that community members are experiencing challenges in accessing care, with 25% of respondents identifying Access to Care as a significant need. The percentage of the population living in a health professional shortage area is extremely high (71%). There is a shortage of mental health providers and fewer intensive care beds. The rate of uninsured residents in this area is 8.68% compared to 7.23% in California and 8.23% across the county.
