The Arbor Drug-Free Communities Coalition (Redwood Community Services) and the Meth and Suicide Prevention Initiative (MSPI) through Pinoleville Pomo Nation would like to invite you to an upcoming training for our community.

 

Supporting Native American Youth; Tomorrow’s Leaders 

Friday, June 29th, 9:00pm-3:00pm.

Location: Consolidated Tribal Health, 6991 N. State Street, Redwood Valley, CA

Supporting Native American youth is a free training for Mendocino County service providers, including but not limited to:

  • school teachers and counselors,
  • social/human service workers,
  • substance abuse counselors,
  • tribal department staff, etc.

 

Frank Tuttle will be starting the morning with a presentation on the historical perspective within Round Valley and other local regions, the effects biological/intergenerational trauma has had on the Native communities and the science of epigenetics. Other guest speakers will speak on topics including issues Native youth are facing today, cultural competency practices, as well as share local community resources.  

We also would like to ask you to take 5 minutes of your time, and fill out a pre-training questionnaire. This questionnaire is anonymous, and its sole purpose to is help inform the planning committee of any topics we may need to intensify, revise or include. Please fill out before Monday, May 28th.
