Funding Available for Child Care providers
In both Lake and Mendocino Counties, there are many dedicated child care providers who continue to stay open during the COVID-19 heath crisis and serve the children of essential workers. Rural Communities Child Care has been awarded funding from the California Department of Education (CDE) to be distributed to providers for the sole purpose of purchasing cleaning supplies, personal protective equipment and other materials to aid in the overall prevention of spreading Covid-19 in child care facilities.
Funds will be disbursed on a first come first serve basis until the fund is exhausted. Payments for each provider that qualifies will be calculated based on the formula provided by CDE which is $65.89 per each child that a provider is licensed for. (Providers are asked to allow up to two weeks from the time the form is received to process and receive a check).
In order to be considered for these limited funds, providers must first fill out the form (in the sidebar of this page) required by CDE. Once complete, this form can be returned via email to: childcare@ncoinc.org. If a provider needs to submit via mail, they can print and send North Coast Opportunities, c/o Rural Communities Child Care 14913 Lakeshore Drive Suite C, Clearlake, CA 95422. This funding disbursement is available to providers in both Lake and Mendocino Counties.
