Collaborative Partnerships

Healthy Mendocino has added 3 new collaboratives to the Projects & Collaboratives section of the website. We are proud to support these cross-sector partnerships working to improve community health in the areas of public health, economic development, and access to care. Read more below about these exciting projects underway in the community and check back for updates and progress.

Mask Up Mendocino, is a campaign led by North Coast Opportunities, Inc., with funding from Mendocino County. NCO will be working closely with the three Chambers of Commerce (Ukiah, Willits, and Fort Bragg), city governments, Ukiah Vecinos en Acción (UVA), Family Resource Centers, and several programs within the NCO structure (Healthy Mendocino, Volunteer Network, Emergency Preparedness In Communities/EPIC, Head Start, People Helping People, and Walk and Bike Mendocino).

The proposed project will increase knowledge and awareness of COVID-19 facts and risks with the goal of increasing the widespread use of prevention strategies, including social distancing and use of face coverings. The anticipated long-term outcome of the project is a reduced rate of COVID-19 spread in Mendocino County, especially among youth, the Latinx community, and the Native American community.

Mini-grants will be awarded to community groups for projects to educate and inspire people to wear masks to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Ideal projects benefit youth, Latinx Communities, and/or Tribal Communities, who are disproportionately impacted by COVID-19. Mini-grant recipients are encouraged to use their creativity to conduct contests, produce videos and street theater, etc. Teachers, schools and classrooms are encouraged to create projects and apply.

Visit the Mask Up Mendocino page for more information and how to apply for the Mini-grant.

MOVE 2030, Mendocino Opportunities for Building a Vibrant Economy, is the second phase of a U.S. Economic Development Administration grant awarded to Mendocino County as a Federally declared disaster area to address economic challenges in impacted areas. The first phase of the plan included data-gathering by the Economic Development and Financing Corporation (EDFC) who reviewed 11 economic indicators and interviewed more than 15 key business owners, industry leaders, and stakeholders. An Economic Recovery and Resiliency plan is being developed by West Business Development Center (West BDC) who will lead the development of the process to create a formal plan and roadmap for the next decade to ensure Mendocino’s economic resiliency in the face of changing climate, demographics, technology, and health safety.

MOVE 2030 has established 4 community work groups focused on the key pillars of economic development: Entrepreneurship and Business, Diversify Industry, Green Infrastructure, and Technology Implementation.

Visit the MOVE 2030 page to learn more and to sign up and participate in one of these action groups to help create a framework for initiatives that support the economic development of our county.

The Mendocino Coast Healthcare Foundation (MCHF) is a non-profit organization located in Fort Bragg dedicated to providing healthcare support by funding essential equipment, capital projects and core services on the Mendocino Coast.
