Community Food System Assessment
Mendocino County’s Food Policy Council (MCFPC) compiled this Community Food System Assessment inorder to provide a comprehensive overview of the current, local food system, the opportunities and barriers that exist to expanding local agriculture and reducing hunger in our community.
A community food system assessment (CFSA)consists of indicators that allow planners andmembers of the public to easily understand thecomponents of their community’s food system. ACFSA examines a range of food issues, and thelinks between these issues and community goals.It is a planned and systematic process ofgathering information and analyzing communityfood issues in terms of both needs and assets.
